PRESS RELEASE

Mar 2, 2022

 Hello Virtuous Dance Center Family!

We hope that this announcement finds you well and in good spirits, we know we are. Virtuous Dance Center continues to grow and flourish, and we only have you all to thank for that. We are always striving to be better and to provide the best space and dance education that we possibly can for our amazing students. We have so many exciting things coming up and wanted to keep you in the loop and informed as much as possible. There have been many opportunities that have come to fruition much more quickly than we thought, but we hope that you all will be as excited about it as we are.

Without further ado, we would like to announce that we have found a new home for our VDC family and we will be relocating! (31 Utah Place #101, Fredericksburg, VA 22405). This new space offers 4 brand new bigger and better rooms! This space will allow our students more room to be big and bold in their movements, which we know has been a struggle in some of our fuller classes. We know that this additional space will be extremely beneficial to our students and staff, and their continued dance education.

Because this new opportunity came on very quickly,  there are some last minute adjustments that must be made to accommodate this move. We know that this creates some last-minute changes on your part, and we sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this creates for you. We hope that you can bare with us for these few weeks of changes, for the long term benefit of our growing studio.

Since we will be moving, starting on Monday February 28th and ending Friday March 11th,  we will be going VIRTUAL for 2 weeks ONLY. We will then have our spring break from March 14th-18th. We will then return to IN PERSON classes at our NEW studio on  Monday, March 21st. This is to accommodate the removal of our floors and mirrors from one location to the other. Our students’ safety is our number one concern, and we do not want them in the building during this deconstruction time with nails and mirrors flying everywhere. During our virtual classes, teachers will be reviewing counts, technique, and basic foundational skills for our May recital coming up.

We know that virtual classes can be a HUGE struggle for some of our little ones, so to accommodate them, we will be offering in-person SATURDAY classes for Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop for our students 10 years old or younger at our King George Location (10230 Kings Hwy. King George, VA 22485). Students can choose to take just the in-person class, just the virtual class, or both! If students decide to show up to any of the in-person classes below, they can take just one, or all of them! This would be a great opportunity, for our younger ones, to step outside of their comfort zones and try something new. Time and dates are listed below for these 5 classes.

Saturday, March 5th and Saturday, March 12th:

  •     Ballet: 9:00-9:30
  •     Modern: 9:30-10:00
  •     Jazz: 10:00-10:30
  •     Hip Hop:10:30-11:00
  •     Tap: 11:00-11:30

We recognize the significant, and very sudden, change this creates to your schedules, and we again apologize for any inconvenience this creates for you all. We know that virtual classes are most certainly not ideal, but we hope that they are manageable for these two weeks, as we get ready for this new and exciting adventure.

Lastly, we are also very excited to announce the theme of our Recital, Dancing Around the World! Our students have been working tirelessly in the classroom to perfect and perform these diverse routines! Both students and staff are bursting at the seams with excitement to show them off at our upcoming recital. Time, dates, and location for this event are listed below.

PRESS RELEASE

February 2, 2022

Virtuous Dance Center family excited to inform that as of February 1, 2022 Virtuous Dance Center is now 501(c) Non-Profit Organization.

With this change in structure Virtuous Dance Center will be able to accomplish the initial main goal to Achieve the Virtue of Excellence to dance to everyone giving more access to dance classes to more families and expanding our program of Dance Scholarships.

For more that 6 years VDC has been an integral part of this community.  However, the opportunity has presented itself to move on from the ownership/structural aspect of the business and focus more on our dancers and on how to help the community.

We have always been the little dance studio that could. In our journey we have learned, it’s not the ballet bars or the building you call a dance studio that separates VDC from other dance studios. Our families are what separate us from being just another dance studio; our dancers, our parents, and our instructors. Every single one of you is what makes VDC the amazing dance studio that it’s grown to be. We are more than a dance studio, but rather a dance family.
We are so grateful to each and every one of you.

The transition of the business structure will be a smooth one. No changes in staff or instructors, everything stays the same. We are just expanding our goal in helping better the  community.
Jr Echevarria is now the Executive Director and Karime Echevarria is the Artistic Director instead of being the owners of the studio.

Please stay tuned with more exciting changes coming soon helping our communities and scholarships.
