VDC Parents;
As you are aware, Virginia ended mask mandates as Covid cases continue to fall from recent peaks. Virtuous Dance Center will continue to require a mask in-studio and while dancing at all times. We also need to remain in compliance with the CDC protocols.

As a reminder:

MASK PROTOCOLS
    •    Masks continue to be required at all times while in the building – including class, while dancing.
    •    Masks are available anytime at the Front Desk. ($2each)
    •    Your mask MUST cover your nose, mouth, and chin. If your mask regularly falls down under your nose or requires constant adjusting, we ask that you please use a different mask.
    •    Please remind your students that their mask must always be worn covering their nose and mouth.

Our priority remains your safety and well-being in hopes to continue dancing as a community in-studio. We will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation in the weeks ahead.

Wishing you all the best,

Virtuous Dance Center

Virginia has lifted the mask mandate for vaccinated persons. Virtuous Dance Center will still be requiring all parents, students and teachers to wear masks until further notice while in the studio.
We want to keep those among us who are young, immunocompromised, or those that have not even been given the opportunity to get a vaccine, a safe place to dance. Thank you.

April 28th, 2020
Hello Virtuous Dance Center family,

Is time for the Virtual End of the Year Show!

First of all we want to thank you for being so supportive to the studio and our staff during these pandemic times, and want to assure you that all of our decisions are based on what is most important…the health and well being of our dance family, and making memories we can be proud of.

Truth be told, no one really knows exactly when we will get through this, or when our studio will be allowed to start opening up. We can all speculate and have our opinions, but no one truly knows…not even the experts. So we believe it is important to keep moving forward, but please understand that things will remain fluid and can be modified as we navigate this time. Virtuous Dance Center has a plan if we are allowed to open our doors on May 8th. Please see the guidelines that we will implement as soon as we are allowed to open at the bottom of this letter.

Regardless of when the studio is allowed to open in May, we want to make sure we celebrate all what our dancers have accomplished and give closure to this semester. We know this will look different to our end of year show but we truly want our dancers to have a closing show full of memories.

What does that mean?; We want all of our dancers to submit via email a short video no later than Friday, May 15th by 4:00 pm. Video should show their best Broadway interpretation, have fun and dress up. Have your dancer find a cool space in your house or outside, help them do their hair and makeup, and film them dancing to either the routine they were working on, or their own interpretation of any Broadway musicals for no less than 30 seconds and no more than 60 seconds. The submissions must include name, age, class if they are a member of the company dance team and if multiple classes, list all classes and let us know which one was their favorite class, what they like the most out of this year at the studio, their biggest accomplishment and what they would like to learn in the upcoming semester (this part can be spoken on the video or written in the submission). Please help us celebrate each and every dancer.

Plans for the summer are to be determined as we get the green light and instructions of how and when we can reopen our doors, if we are not allowed to reopen soon we will have our summer classes via zoom. For those looking forward to being part of our amazing competition team we will send more information about our upcoming virtual competition and team auditions.

Virtuous Dance Center and its staff want you to know how much we appreciate you. The kindness that you have shown during this time especially to those that wish to remain anonymous has not gone unnoticed. Thank you from the bottom of our heart for standing with Virtuous Dance Center, keeping your dancers involved, and trusting that we would continue to celebrate and honor this season and your children. We look forward to the time when we can give high fives and hugs, and chitchat in the halls and lobby of our studios. We miss everyone dearly!

With the most humbled heart,
Sincerely,

Jr. & Karime Echevarria and Staff

March 25, 2020

Dear VDC families,

We are adapting every day to what the new “temporary” normal is looking like and are excited to announce that our new normal includes Virtual Dance Classes starting next Monday, March 30th! We were excited to get up and running at our facility, but it appears we may be social distancing for a bit longer. This online method allows us to reach our families, connect with the dancers, and still provide you a quality dance experience the best way we can, given the circumstances.

Our faculty will be offering these exclusive virtual dance classes for all current VDC families through Zoom video conferencing starting Monday, March 30th. As well we will be offering new classes on this format to include adult dance classes. Check out more details about the zoom classes and instructions on our website. While we are hoping most families will join us for these online classes and continue to support the studio, we realize this may not be suitable for everyone such as ACRO and Gymnastics classes. These classes will resume by the end of April to follow the State and CDC guidelines. Please visit the following link: https://virtuousdancecenter.com/virtual-dance-classes/.  This link contain all the instructions for the online classes.

It is with much sadness that Virtuous is officially cancelling our end of the year showcase in May due to the school closures for the rest of the school calendar. Costumes fees are being credited to your accounts as of today and you can use to pay your April Tuition. For families with multiple costumes the refund will be limited to one costume per family due that companies are not refunding money on these difficult times and they are just giving future credit. (this might help for Winter Showcase or Future shows).

If you able and interested in donating to the studio at this time we would appreciate any amount of support. Your donation will ensure that Virtuous can continue to pay our teachers (many of whom rely on this job to make a living) and stay open via zoom during this pandemic, so that when the social distancing/quarantine does end, and it will, we can still be here to share our love of dance with you and the community as we have done for 5 years.

As always, we are so thankful for the wonderful families of this community. We hope you and your family are staying safe and doing well. Please reach out to us if there is anything (even beyond dance) that we can do to help you and your family during this time.

NOTE: Don’t forget to show your support to your dancer with the “VDC Living Room Dance Challenge”. Post a video on social media of your dancer with a dance routine (1min preferred) and tag our studio @virtuousdancecenter and use the Hashtag: #VDCLivingRoomDanceChallenge. We have so many beautiful dancers posting already the support to the art of dance! We will be selecting a winner by today(March 25th) by noon. The winner will receive 1 class free for 3 months, valid for 2020-2021 season.

CORONAVIRUS STUDIO UPDATE – MARCH 18, 2020

VDC Family;

First and foremost, we hope this message finds you well.   We miss our studio family and look forward to times that we can be together again.

COVID-19 has presented all of us with unforeseen, unpredictable and challenging circumstances that we could have never imagined.  As we try to move forward with positivity and hope, we work feverishly every day with our team to create solutions to continue to stay connected to our students, to stay connected to our dance families, to provide virtual classes and navigate these waters of uncertainty for all for Dance.   Dance is such an important part of our lives.  Virtuous Dance Center has been a dream that we have worked very hard to create over the last 5 years.   We are committed to keeping Virtuous Dance Center in our lives in every way possible.

Today we are informing that Virtuous Dance Center will be closed until Saturday, March 28th.  We are very uncertain as to whether we will be able to reopen by Monday, March 30th.  We will send a new update by March 28th to confirm our next course of action.

One of the most common quotes in the dance world that we know is “the show must go on!”  That phrase motivates us every day.   As we read and listen to the many news reports, we can’t help but wonder how the COVID-19 pandemic may affect the dates of our recital.  Don’t worry, we have already begun having conversations with our venue about other date options.  We may not be able to have our recitals exactly as we have in the past but our show will go on!  As our future becomes clearer, we will certainly communicate details.    All of our dancers and staff have worked so hard all season for our performances and we will celebrate those accomplishments on stage.

To our competition teams, we will compete and go to nationals.  We will reschedule competitions.  Your hard work and love of dance will shine on stage when the time is right.

With every day comes new information and new circumstances to consider.  Please know that we are committed to making decisions that put the safety and well-being of our dance families first.  We believe in the dance community that we have created at Virtuous Dance Center and, with the support of each other, we will make it through this together.

We sincerely appreciate the patience, kindness, love and support that we have received from so many of you during this time and always.  We are thankful to be blessed with such a wonderful studio family.  We are sending our love and well wishes to all of you!

MARCH 12, 2020

VDC Family,

Virtuous Dance Center is committed to the health and wellness of its patrons. We have been in contact with CDC & Public Health Agencies regarding the spread of the Coronavirus (CORVID-19).

We respectfully ask that you do your part to keep your fellow dancers and family healthy. Wash your hands often for 20 seconds with soap and water. If unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Cover your mouth and nose with your sleeve or tissue when you sneeze or cough. Avoid close contact (touching or shaking hands) with people who are sick. Avoid touching your mouth, nose, and eyes with unwashed hands. Stay home when you are sick. Get adequate sleep and eat well-balanced meals to ensure a healthy immune system.

We will continue to keep your informed of any changes in our schedule.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter!

FEBRUARY 28, 2019

VDC Families;

Virtuous Dance Center is aware that the public is concerned about this Flu Season and specially the recent Coronavirus.

Influenza (flu) is currently widespread across Virginia. Symptoms of Coronavirus are similar to the flu. Virtuous Dance Center have increased the frequency of sanitizing touched surfaces, doorknobs. In addition, we are taking extra steps to sanitize our dance studios. We are also ensuring that there is soap in all dispensers and encouraging everyone to remind our dancers about the importance of handwashing.

Please follow Schools and Virtuous Dance Center guidelines for keeping your Dancer at home from the studio when sick:

  • Fever greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Vomiting within 24 hours
  • Diarrhea
  • Nasal drainage that is yellow or green
  • Severe earaches (pain) or chronic productive (wet) cough
  • General malaise or feelings of fatigue, discomfort, weakness, or muscle aches

To help prevent the spread of flu, colds, and viruses, explain your dancer good hygiene habits:

  • Wash hands frequently for at least 20 seconds.
  • Do not touch eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Cover mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing. Use a paper tissue or cough/sneeze into sleeves.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Dancers should be free of fever, vomiting, and/or diarrhea for 24 hours without the use of medication to control these symptoms prior to returning to the studio. Keeping a sick child at home will minimize the spread of infections and viruses in the studio.

Remember the goal of Virtuous Dance Center is to ensure the safety, and well being of all dancers.

Sincerely,
