Cancellation Policy
Monthly Tuition & Class Withdrawals
Virtuous Dance Center requires at least 30 days’ advance written notice by email to withdraw a student from classes or reduce their enrollment. Please include the student’s name, affected classes, and requested last day of attendance.
Verbal notice, notifying an instructor, or stopping attendance does not constitute withdrawal. The notice period begins when VDC receives your email.
Tuition remains due through the calendar month in which the withdrawal becomes effective. Monthly tuition is not prorated, and no refunds are provided for missed classes or withdrawal during a paid month. Any applicable tuition adjustment will begin with the following month’s billing.
If you request withdrawal with fewer than 30 days’ notice, a $75 withdrawal fee per student applies in place of completing the notice period. Tuition remains due through the requested withdrawal month, and future monthly tuition billing will stop.
Refunds, Prepaid Tuition & Studio Credits
Tuition and prepaid tuition are non-refundable for student-initiated withdrawals.
Withdrawal does not automatically create a studio credit. If VDC approves a credit, it may be applied toward another eligible VDC class within one year of the date the credit is issued. Credits are subject to class availability and enrollment requirements and cannot be redeemed for cash, except as required by law.
Gift Certificates & Lesson Packages
Purchased gift certificates are non-refundable, except as required by law, and do not expire.
Lesson packages must be used within one year of purchase, unless otherwise stated in writing at the time of purchase or required by law. Lesson packages are non-refundable for student-initiated cancellations and are subject to the private lesson cancellation policy below.
Private Lessons
Cancellations and rescheduling requests must be received at least 48 hours before the scheduled lesson.
- With at least 48 hours’ notice, the lesson may be rescheduled without a cancellation fee, subject to instructor availability.
- With fewer than 48 hours’ notice but before the lesson begins, a $35 cancellation fee applies. Any prepaid lesson payment remains available toward the rescheduled lesson.
- Cancellations received at or after the lesson’s start time, and missed lessons without notice, are charged at the full lesson rate. For prepaid packages, the lesson is considered used.
The $35 fee and full lesson charge will not both apply to the same cancellation. Private lessons are non-refundable for student-initiated cancellations.
Dance Company Fees
Dance Company fees are non-refundable for dancer-initiated withdrawal. These include Company registration, studio, choreography, costume, competition, and convention fees.
These payments support commitments made on behalf of participating dancers, including payments to instructors, vendors, and event organizers. Withdrawal does not cancel financial obligations already incurred under the signed Company agreement.
Additional Company withdrawal requirements and payment obligations are governed by the signed Company agreement.
Cancellations by VDC
If VDC cancels a private lesson, the family may choose to reschedule or receive a refund for that lesson.
If VDC permanently cancels a class or program, families will be offered a suitable transfer or a refund for prepaid services that will not be provided.
Enrollment & Conduct
VDC reserves the right to decline or discontinue enrollment for nonpayment, unsafe behavior, or violations of studio policies, consistent with applicable law.
Any refund or remaining payment obligation will be determined by the circumstances, applicable agreements, and applicable law.
